Day 2:  Tsavo East National Park

Wake up early for a morning game drive. The early hours are the best time to spot predators, as lions and cheetahs are often more active at dawn. As the sun rises over Tsavo East, the landscape comes alive with wildlife. During the drive, you’ll see elephants grazing, herds of wildebeest and buffalo roaming the plains, and the chance to spot some of Tsavo’s elusive predators. Your guide will share insights about the park’s ecosystem, its conservation efforts, and the unique wildlife that calls it home.

Return to the lodge for a delicious brunch and some time to relax. Enjoy the comfort of the lodge’s facilities, take a dip in the pool, or simply unwind in your room, listening to the sounds of the African wilderness just outside your window. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can opt for a nature walk or visit the nearby Voi Wildlife Sanctuary to see more of the region’s fauna.

In the afternoon, head out for another game drive, this time to explore different parts of Tsavo East. The park is vast, with varied terrain that includes open plains, acacia forests, and riverine areas, providing diverse habitats for a wide range of animals. Look out for rare species like the CheetahLeopard, and Kudu, as well as the famous Tsavo red elephants, who are uniquely colored by the park’s iron-rich soil.

After a thrilling afternoon of wildlife sightings, return to your accommodation. Enjoy a relaxing evening with a cocktail by the pool and a gourmet dinner, while watching the sun set over the endless plains. As night falls, you may hear the distant roar of lions or the trumpeting of elephants in the distance—an unforgettable experience that wraps up your first two days in the wild.
